There are three levels of Competition Obedience classes at the Canine Sports Center.
NOVICE COMPETITION OBEDIENCE
This is the first level of obedience competition for the dog just getting started. Exercises include heeling on leash and off leash, standing for examination, recall and long sits and downs.
OPEN COMPETITION OBEDIENCE
The second level which includes more complicated exercises and the dog must be able to follow commands either by voice or hand signal. The exercises include heel free and figure eight, dropping on recall, retrieve on the flat, retrieve over the high jump, broad jump and lengthened long sits and down.
UTILITY COMPETITION OBEDIENCE
The third and highest level of obedience competition. Exercises include hand signal commands, scent discrimination, directed retrieve, moving stand and examination and directed jumping.
