This is so exciting!!!! Kate Meurs (WashingtonStateUniversity veterinary cardiologist) has discovered the gene for Cardiomyopathy in Boxers and Cats and hopefully the identifying the gene in Dobermans will come shortly. Boxer breeders will be able to use a cheek swab for the DNA within 1-2 mo. and the cost will be approx. $75.00. Read the link below. I never thought this would happen in my lifetime and now it's a strong possibility.
